The new HyperOS or MIUI update is not necessarily the best. Before updating Xiaomi Civi 3 (yuechu), read reviews on 4PDA or XDA Developers. If installing a Flash File, full ROM, or the new OTA update caused issues, please let us know in the comments and mention the version number.
Hello. I have my wife’s phone Civi 3 was updated with xiaomi.eu rom HyperOS 1. Now due to the restrictions of security by Google I need to recover it to original CN rom and lock bootloader. When it was new from the box – it was on MIUI, now – on HyperOS. For recovery to stock using FASTBOOT – will it correctly flash with last stock CN MIUI rom (it is older than present)? Or I should flash with latest HyperOS 2?
And the most important – how not to make it brick. During flashing – use “clean all data” only and after completion – check if tel properly booting to OS. How to lock bootloader then safely if it is alive? Should it be MIUI as it was out of the box or it can be on latest HyperOS? Of course both MIUI and Hyper are stock from official sites.
You cannot flash the latest stock CN MIUI if it’s older than your current HyperOS 1 from xiaomi.eu — this will almost certainly brick the device due to Anti-rollback protection. You must flash the latest official CN HyperOS for the Civi 3 instead. Use fastboot with MiFlash, first choosing the “clean all” option, then check that the phone boots and works properly. Only after confirming this should you flash again with “clean all and lock” to close the bootloader. You can lock the bootloader on either MIUI or HyperOS. Since the Civi 3 is now officially on HyperOS, it’s safest to lock it on the latest CN HyperOS.
Thanks a lot for confirming. Will try to follow.
