Update status in the table:

  • Release – stable official firmware is already available in the region. This does not guarantee that the update will appear on eligible device immediately (why the HyperOS 3 update is not coming to REDMI).
  • Beta – the version is in beta testing. The exact release date of the stable update is not yet known.
  • Date – the approximate release date of HyperOS 3.0 based on REDMI’s official rollout schedule.
  • n/a – default value for regions. The firmware will be released in the countries where the eligible device is sold, but the date is not yet known.

Xiaomi HyperOS 3 release schedule 2026

The third generation of HyperOS 3.0 runs on Android 16 and is compatible with Android 15. If your phone doesn’t support Android 15, it won’t be updated. Some examples of such models are REDMI Pad SE, REDMI Note 12 5G and 12 Pro 5G, REDMI 12C.

REDMI branded devices usually receive two or three major OS updates. So far, there is no model that has been updated four times. So if your phone was released with MIUI 13 and then updated to MIUI 14, HyperOS 1 and HyperOS 2, don’t expect to get HyperOS 3.

Some phones in the REDMI Note 12 series will not receive the update. The REDMI Note 12 5G, 12 Pro 5G and 12 Pro Plus 5G will remain on Android 14, which is not compatible with HyperOS 3. The same goes for the REDMI Pad and REDMI Pad SE tablets. The REDMI 12C and other older devices won’t be affected by the update either.

The REDMI Note 12 Pro 4G, REDMI Note 12R and 12R Pro came with MIUI 13, and the chances of them getting an update are next to nil.

Official HyperOS 3 update plan 2026

If your device is not on the list, don’t get upset. The developers may add it to the list of supported models later. Wait with us for the official confirmation from the development team.

REDMI smartphones and tablets are supported longer and better than POCO models. However, they are inferior to Xiaomi devices, which have a higher priority for updates and support more generations of Xiaomi and Google Android operating systems.

    Never in my life will I buy another Xiaomi device. My Redmi Note 13 4G isn’t even receiving Android security patches, no sign of Hyper OS 3 for it, while all the others from the same generation have received them.

    Not to mention that it was my first device from the brand and the first impression was terrible. The system lacks polish, the notifications are gray while Samsung’s have transparency even on entry-level devices. The dark theme leaves the navigation bar white in most apps. A horror.

      Redmi note 14 and above get more software updates than ever, sadly redmi note 13 4g just so happens to get the short end of the stick on being one of the last note-series devices to get only a couple android upgrades. Security patches are mostly optional imo, I update those like every half a year, but I heard our phone will get security update till next end of next year? Your phone won’t suddenly be unsecure, unless you’re a high profile target which I’ll assume you’re not. But yeah the android 15 should last you a while tbh. Popular android apps still uses android 8-10ish as minimum, banking apps like 11-12? Depends on the app. By the time the device breaks in a few years, maybe google play store apps will start requiring android 15.

      Just my opinion on this though. We have the same device, but diff opinion, redmi is pretty good value imo. Samsung has lower base ram (4gb) in my country, promising how many years of updates. Even though android 16 requires 6gb ram. Wonder how they’ll handle that.

    My official 15 was made in 2025 and I bought it in February 2026. I saw the Hyper OS update schedule for April, but as of this second, I haven’t received any update notifications.

    When will the security patch arrive for Redmi 12 ? A security patch arrived 8 months ago, and nothing after that. Support is until 2027, so at least one security patch should arrive.
