Which Xiaomi, REDMI, and POCO phones will receive Android 16

The stable release date of Google Android 16 is June 10, 2025. The version for Xiaomi, REDMI, and POCO devices is already available for many models. On Xiaomi phones and tablets, the update began rolling out in autumn 2025, simultaneously with the release of HyperOS 3.0.

Testing of the new Android 16 shell (codenamed Baklava) is underway on global models and devices for the Chinese domestic market, such as Xiaomi 15, Xiaomi 15 Pro, REDMI K70 Ultra, Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro, Xiaomi 14T Pro.

It includes work on app, SDK, and library compatibility, as well as refinement of stock applications. At the same time, third-party app developers for Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO phones are updating their apps, identifying and fixing compatibility issues. As a result, the new OS release may be delayed for some models.

Which Xiaomi devices will get Android 16

It is reliably known which Xiaomi phones will be updated to Android 16. Official information is published on the mi.com website. Based on it, we have compiled a table of compatible models.

Which Xiaomi phones will get Android 16:

• Release – the stable version of Xiaomi’s Android 16 update is out. You can download it by following the link on the device name.
• Beta – the firmware is in beta testing.
• n/a – the official release date is still unknown.

It is absolutely certain that the Xiaomi 13 Lite, the entire Xiaomi 12 series, Xiaomi Pad 6 and earlier models will not receive this update.

There is no correlation between a phone’s support period and the number of Android versions it will receive. The support period only contains information about the date when security patches will no longer be released for the device. Nothing more.

Which REDMIs will get Android 16

Phones with a maximum version of HyperOS 2.0 will not be updated because this operating system is based on Android 15 with support for version 14.

Which REDMI phones will get Android 16:

• Release – the stable version of the REDMI update for Android 16 can be downloaded from the link on the device name.
• Beta – the update is in beta testing.
• n/a – there is no official release date yet.

REDMI Note 13 and 13 5G, REDMI 13 and 13 5G, REDMI Note 12 and REDMI 12 series and older models will not be updated.

Google Android 16 is codenamed Baklava (index ‘B’ in Xiaomi’s firmware numbers). The OS will be officially unveiled in the second half of 2025, closer to September-October.

Which POCOs will get Android 16

POCO brand is the cheapest and least in terms of number of supported smartphones.

Which POCO phones will get Android 16:

• Release – the stable version of the POCO update for Android 16 is out. You can download it by clicking on the link next to the device name.
• Beta – the firmware is in beta testing.
• n/a – no official release date has been announced yet.

POCO M6 Pro 5G and POCO C6 will not receive Android 16, nor will the older models.

It’s important to note that Xiaomi, REDMI and POCO phones get different numbers of Android versions during their support period:

1. Xiaomi’s top-end models typically get 3-4 Android version updates.
2. REDMI devices get no more than 2-3 (rarely 4).
3. POCO phones and tablets usually get 2 updates.

At the same time, Xiaomi and REDMI models for the Chinese domestic market have advantages over global devices – they are updated more often and longer (but this is not a reason to buy them).

The list of phones will be updated as new information becomes available. If your device is not in the table, it means that there is no information or that the update based on the sixteenth version has not been released for it.
